Yeah, yeah, we heard all about the Sarah Palin’s Book Going Rogue – An American Life to be launched on Nov 17th. They expect to move 1.5 million copies, and pre-orders have been brisk. We couldn’t let that stand without a fight. There are two sides to every story, but let’s get something clear here – Sarah didn’t write this book either. So we created an alternative: Going Rouge – The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring and Activity Book, now available for pre-order, with a launch date of November 17th, just like that other shameless rot. Get ready to see more of Levi Johnston — including his johnson. The hockey-playing dad to Sarah Palin’s grandson, Johnston, is ready for his Playgirl close-up, which will most definitely feature some full frontal.

And while a date has yet to be set for his n#de photo shoot, his manager Tank Jones told Usmagazine.com today, “it will be early November” in New York.

And Playgirl readers shouldn’t expect many artfully placed pillows in the photos. Jones confirms to Us that full-frontal shots are planned for the shoot — and that Bristol Palin’s ex isn’t nervous about exposing himself.

“He’s pumped! He’s ready to shock the world. The hell with fifteen minutes,” Jones told Us over the phone. “As a matter of fact, when I picked him up, he came out the house naked. I said ‘not now!’”

Johnston himself took the phone for a moment to chime in, telling Us: “I just get naked. That’s what I do.”

Like the up-in-the-air date, the theme of the shoot itself is also to-be-determined, Jones explained. “We’re going to play it by ear. I’m going to make sure it’s something he’s comfortable with and tasteful. This is art.”

And what of the New York Post’s reports of a six-figure payday for the budding model? “This is not about money,” Jones tells Us. “I don’t remember how much it is. It’s a little bread.”

He’s 19.

If Palin’s speech proves memorable, it will be in the way that Richard Nixon’s 1962 “You won’t have Nixon to kick around any more” speech endures. Palin’s resignation speech was a strange hodgepodge, a mix of self-congratulatory horn-tooting, sound-bites and catch-phrases, unexplained political shorthand references (“that liberal 9th circuit!”) and awkward ad-libs that left the impression of someone of such towering hubris that she did not think something so mundane as practicing the speech was necessary. When message is secondary to messenger practice may seem a waste of precious time. But Palin would do well to learn a lesson from the Great Commmunicator: Reagan made speech-giving look easy because he was a great natural talent, but also because he worked very hard at it and practiced a great deal. As I recount in White House Ghosts, would sit in the Oval Office as TV crews were setting up around him and quietly re-read his speech.

Political success is about hard work and working hard. And progress is made through compromise. But in Friday’s speech Palin dismissed hard work and compromise as the quitter’s way out.

“Life is too short to compromise time and resources,” she said. “It may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: ‘Sit down and shut up,’ but that’s the worthless, easy path; that’s a quitter’s way out.”

In politics people talk about work-horses and show-horses, the former being those who get things done and the latter being those who preen in front of the cameras. Palin, incredibly, proudly declared herself a show-horse. As TPM’s David Kurtz neatly summed it up: “Quitters stick to it. Winners quit.”

Or as Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey put it in his stunned, angry must-read post: “No one leads by quitting. No one leads by quitting.” Morrissey describes the Palin decision as “easily the most bizarre resignation I’ve seen, and just about senseless.” I commend his whole post as he dismantles Palin’s stated reasons point by damning point. He concludes: “She has destroyed her own credibility in a single day. I liked Sarah Palin and supported her inclusion on the GOP ticket last fall.  I thought she had more toughness than this.  I’ts a big disappointment, and it is the end of any hope of Palin getting taken seriously as a politician on the national level in the future.”

• Better find a new job since Political Palin ended July 4, 2009.
• Forget 2012 Sarah, you will be lucky to even be a Poll Worker.

1. “For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I [Special Investigator Branchflower] find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statue 39.59.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statue 39.52.110(a) provides:

“The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.”

2. I find that, although Walt Mongegan’s refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

3. Harbor Adjustment Service of Anchorage, and its owner Ms. Murleen Willkes, handled Trooper Michael Wooten’s workers’ compensation claim properly and in the normal course of business like any other claim processed by Harbor Adjustment Service and Ms. Willkes. Further, Trooper Wooten received all the workers’ compensation benefits to which he was entitled.

4. The Attorney General’s office has failed to substantially comply with my August 6, 2008 written request to Governor Sarah Palin for information about the case in the form of emails.

So for those of you who have been waiting, there it is. Sarah Palin did very, very bad, and behaved unethically, just what we need in another VP.

Note: Is it just me or anytime those GOP nuts are found Guilty of something they seem to think they have done no wrong? We have had 8 years of crap like this and I dont think Americans will allow it to continue!
