Yeah, yeah, we heard all about the Sarah Palin’s Book Going Rogue – An American Life to be launched on Nov 17th. They expect to move 1.5 million copies, and pre-orders have been brisk. We couldn’t let that stand without a fight. There are two sides to every story, but let’s get something clear here – Sarah didn’t write this book either. So we created an alternative: Going Rouge – The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring and Activity Book, now available for pre-order, with a launch date of November 17th, just like that other shameless rot. But our book is chock full of mazes (like “Help Sarah find her way to the White House”), puzzles, word games, and brilliant illustrations to color or chuckle over as we mercilessly lampoon and parody everything Palin in 48 pages of hilarity.

Get ready to see more of Levi Johnston — including his johnson. The hockey-playing dad to Sarah Palin’s grandson, Johnston, is ready for his Playgirl close-up, which will most definitely feature some full frontal.

And while a date has yet to be set for his n#de photo shoot, his manager Tank Jones told Usmagazine.com today, “it will be early November” in New York.

And Playgirl readers shouldn’t expect many artfully placed pillows in the photos. Jones confirms to Us that full-frontal shots are planned for the shoot — and that Bristol Palin’s ex isn’t nervous about exposing himself.

“He’s pumped! He’s ready to shock the world. The hell with fifteen minutes,” Jones told Us over the phone. “As a matter of fact, when I picked him up, he came out the house naked. I said ‘not now!’”

Johnston himself took the phone for a moment to chime in, telling Us: “I just get naked. That’s what I do.”

Like the up-in-the-air date, the theme of the shoot itself is also to-be-determined, Jones explained. “We’re going to play it by ear. I’m going to make sure it’s something he’s comfortable with and tasteful. This is art.”

And what of the New York Post’s reports of a six-figure payday for the budding model? “This is not about money,” Jones tells Us. “I don’t remember how much it is. It’s a little bread.”

He’s 19.

Levi Johnston appeared on CBS’ Early Show Wednesday (10-28-09), where he explained his reasons for spilling unflattering information about the Palin family and said he was keeping some “huge” secrets. Among other things, Johnston said Palin joked about her son Trig’s Down Syndrome, calling him her “retarded baby.”

“I was just in shock the first time I heard it,” he said, when host Maggie Rodriguez expressed disbelief. He also said Bristol took care of the baby much more than her mother: “Sarah was never home.” Johnston also said that Todd and Sarah would fight in front of their kids.

He said he was going public because the Palins betrayed him and backstabbed him: “I really don’t care anymore … Now it’s my turn … I told a little bit of stuff, and you know, I’m just not going to take it anymore.”… “If she’s going to go out there and say things to me, about me, I’m going to leak some things on her. I mean that’s just how it is,” he said. He added, however, that there are some things he won’t say that would really hurt Palin. “I’m not gonna go that far,” he said.

The Washington Post offers more of the CBS interview:
When asked whether he resents Palin, Johnston says, “Well now I’ve heard all the things she’s said. You know, the Sarah Palin I knew before, it was — it was her putting on a front, it was her being fake to me and now that everything’s slowly coming out and I’m hearing more things, you know, and things she’s said and done, you know, I see the real Palin,” Levi responds, before stepping through the looking glass.

Palin quickly issued a statement responding to Levi’s remarks. “We have purposefully ignored the mean spirited, malicious and untrue attacks on our family. We, like many, are appalled at the inflammatory statements being made or implied.” Palin also went after CBS and Levi’s intentions to strip for Playgirl: “CBS should be ashamed for continually providing a forum to propagate lies. Consider the source of the most recent attention-getting lies — those who would sell their body for money reflect a desperate need for attention and are likely to say and do anything for even more attention.”

If Sarah Palin truly does plan to stay in politics, her resignation speech should have been a memorable philosophical statement akin to Ronald Reagan’s speech on behalf of Barry Goldwater in the 1964 presidential campaign. The Gipper’s speech was an eloquent and enduring summation of his political philosophy and while it did little to help his candidate, it catapulted him onto the national political stage and laid out his governing vision. It was known among his staff simply as “the speech” and he would give variations of it for the rest of his career.

If Palin’s speech proves memorable, it will be in the way that Richard Nixon’s 1962 “You won’t have Nixon to kick around any more” speech endures. Palin’s resignation speech was a strange hodgepodge, a mix of self-congratulatory horn-tooting, sound-bites and catch-phrases, unexplained political shorthand references (“that liberal 9th circuit!”) and awkward ad-libs that left the impression of someone of such towering hubris that she did not think something so mundane as practicing the speech was necessary. When message is secondary to messenger practice may seem a waste of precious time. But Palin would do well to learn a lesson from the Great Commmunicator: Reagan made speech-giving look easy because he was a great natural talent, but also because he worked very hard at it and practiced a great deal. As I recount in White House Ghosts, would sit in the Oval Office as TV crews were setting up around him and quietly re-read his speech.

Political success is about hard work and working hard. And progress is made through compromise. But in Friday’s speech Palin dismissed hard work and compromise as the quitter’s way out.

“Life is too short to compromise time and resources,” she said. “It may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: ‘Sit down and shut up,’ but that’s the worthless, easy path; that’s a quitter’s way out.”

In politics people talk about work-horses and show-horses, the former being those who get things done and the latter being those who preen in front of the cameras. Palin, incredibly, proudly declared herself a show-horse. As TPM’s David Kurtz neatly summed it up: “Quitters stick to it. Winners quit.”

Or as Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey put it in his stunned, angry must-read post: “No one leads by quitting. No one leads by quitting.” Morrissey describes the Palin decision as “easily the most bizarre resignation I’ve seen, and just about senseless.” I commend his whole post as he dismantles Palin’s stated reasons point by damning point. He concludes: “She has destroyed her own credibility in a single day. I liked Sarah Palin and supported her inclusion on the GOP ticket last fall. I thought she had more toughness than this. I’ts a big disappointment, and it is the end of any hope of Palin getting taken seriously as a politician on the national level in the future.”

Our Thoughts:

There is a Big Palin Scandall on the way.

Better find a new job since Political Palin ended July 4, 2009.

Forget 2012 Sarah, you will be lucky to even be a Poll Worker.

On the heels of a McCain supporter yelling that Obama was a “terrorist” today – and McCain said nothing in response to admonish the supporter – the Washington Post reports (via ThinkProgress) that a Palin supporter at one of her rallies today yelled for Obama to be assassinated after Palin, again, told the lie that some of Obama’s best friends are terrorists:

“Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers,” Palin said.

“Boooo!” said the crowd.

“And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” she continued.

“Boooo!” the crowd repeated.

“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.

Palin went on to say that “Obama held one of the first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers’s living room, and they’ve worked together on various projects in Chicago.”

Palin went on?

Just like she did when speakers at her church said that terrorist attacks against Israelis were “God’s judgment” for Jews having the audacity not to embrace Christianity. Just like she did when a visiting witch doctor at her church lamented the fact that, as he claimed, Jews control the banking industry and that’s why Wall Street is so corrupt. Not a word from Sarah Palin when her supporters talk of killing Barack Obama. Not a word from Sarah Palin when her own church talks of the propriety of launching terrorist attacks against Jews in Israel.

In one day, McCain’s supporters are so enraged by McCain’s new rhetoric, calling Obama an un-American terrorist sympathizer, that McCain’s supporters are now labeling Obama himself a “terrorist” and calling for him to be killed.

And McCain has no problem with this. Nor does Sarah Palin.

My Notes: Others that have incited murder, threats and harm to others have ended up in jail or at the least, questioned for hours about there actions. Sarah Palin should indeed watch herself since she may find being arrested or detained by a citizen for her actions, would indeed put an end to any political position in the future.

Note to FBI & Law Enforcement: If the actions of McCain and Palin are OK, please remember that makes it OK for everyone. It is suggested you make an arrest or detain her for questioning at once. It will be better if suthorities do this rather than a citizen to. I know when she visits NC on October 16, a group will use NC Law to detain her, since “Citizens Arrest” does not apply in NC. Ohh yeah the NC law is enforceable by private citizens so dont try to stop these people or you could be detained and arrested.

The rocket scientists handling damage control for Sarah Palin have come up with yet another excuse . . . I mean defense . . . in the Troopergate scandal. Palin didn’t fire the state’s public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, because he refused to fire her former brother-in-law, they explain. Heaven forbid — nothing could be further from the truth.

No, the reason she fired Monegan was because he was overly zealous — to the point of insubordination — in insisting on pursuing federal funding to help with Alaska’s epidemic of sex offenses, including, in particular, sex crimes against children. Palin, it seems, had other priorities.

Wow, hell of a defense, Sarah, really — sort of like confessing to a murder in order to establish an alibi in a burglary trial.

Firing a law enforcement official because he was overly aggressive in seeking resources to fight sex crimes against children would be politically dicey under the best of circumstances: but for Palin this is anything but the best of circumstances. Remember, this is the same Sarah Palin who, as mayor of Wasilla, either acquiesced in or actively supported a requirement that rape victims pay for their own rape kits (used to collect evidence at the hospital).

Apparently this is that new face of right wing “feminism” we’ve been hearing so much about — contempt for the rights of rape victims combined with disinterest in fighting sexcrimes.

Sounds like a winner to me.

Now, given that this is about the fourth excuse Palin has offered for firing Monegan, there’s good reason to suspect it isn’t true anyway. Taking into account everything we’ve learned about her, including her long history of using the public trust to settle personal scores, it’s probably more likely that it was, in fact, Monegan’s refusal to play along with her vendetta against her sister’s ex that sealed the deal.

Still, the very fact that Palin and her minions thought that using Monegan’s alleged insubordination” in seeking federal funding to fight sex crimes would be a politically winning response to the charges leveled against her says something — something quite troubling — not only about her judgment, but also about her humanity.
