Yeah, yeah, we heard all about the Sarah Palin’s Book Going Rogue – An American Life to be launched on Nov 17th. They expect to move 1.5 million copies, and pre-orders have been brisk. We couldn’t let that stand without a fight. There are two sides to every story, but let’s get something clear here – Sarah didn’t write this book either. So we created an alternative: Going Rouge – The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring and Activity Book, now available for pre-order, with a launch date of November 17th, just like that other shameless rot. But our book is chock full of mazes (like “Help Sarah find her way to the White House”), puzzles, word games, and brilliant illustrations to color or chuckle over as we mercilessly lampoon and parody everything Palin in 48 pages of hilarity.

Get ready to see more of Levi Johnston — including his johnson. The hockey-playing dad to Sarah Palin’s grandson, Johnston, is ready for his Playgirl close-up, which will most definitely feature some full frontal.

And while a date has yet to be set for his n#de photo shoot, his manager Tank Jones told Usmagazine.com today, “it will be early November” in New York.

And Playgirl readers shouldn’t expect many artfully placed pillows in the photos. Jones confirms to Us that full-frontal shots are planned for the shoot — and that Bristol Palin’s ex isn’t nervous about exposing himself.

“He’s pumped! He’s ready to shock the world. The hell with fifteen minutes,” Jones told Us over the phone. “As a matter of fact, when I picked him up, he came out the house naked. I said ‘not now!’”

Johnston himself took the phone for a moment to chime in, telling Us: “I just get naked. That’s what I do.”

Like the up-in-the-air date, the theme of the shoot itself is also to-be-determined, Jones explained. “We’re going to play it by ear. I’m going to make sure it’s something he’s comfortable with and tasteful. This is art.”

And what of the New York Post’s reports of a six-figure payday for the budding model? “This is not about money,” Jones tells Us. “I don’t remember how much it is. It’s a little bread.”

He’s 19.

Levi Johnston appeared on CBS’ Early Show Wednesday (10-28-09), where he explained his reasons for spilling unflattering information about the Palin family and said he was keeping some “huge” secrets. Among other things, Johnston said Palin joked about her son Trig’s Down Syndrome, calling him her “retarded baby.”

“I was just in shock the first time I heard it,” he said, when host Maggie Rodriguez expressed disbelief. He also said Bristol took care of the baby much more than her mother: “Sarah was never home.” Johnston also said that Todd and Sarah would fight in front of their kids.

He said he was going public because the Palins betrayed him and backstabbed him: “I really don’t care anymore … Now it’s my turn … I told a little bit of stuff, and you know, I’m just not going to take it anymore.”… “If she’s going to go out there and say things to me, about me, I’m going to leak some things on her. I mean that’s just how it is,” he said. He added, however, that there are some things he won’t say that would really hurt Palin. “I’m not gonna go that far,” he said.

The Washington Post offers more of the CBS interview:
When asked whether he resents Palin, Johnston says, “Well now I’ve heard all the things she’s said. You know, the Sarah Palin I knew before, it was — it was her putting on a front, it was her being fake to me and now that everything’s slowly coming out and I’m hearing more things, you know, and things she’s said and done, you know, I see the real Palin,” Levi responds, before stepping through the looking glass.

Palin quickly issued a statement responding to Levi’s remarks. “We have purposefully ignored the mean spirited, malicious and untrue attacks on our family. We, like many, are appalled at the inflammatory statements being made or implied.” Palin also went after CBS and Levi’s intentions to strip for Playgirl: “CBS should be ashamed for continually providing a forum to propagate lies. Consider the source of the most recent attention-getting lies — those who would sell their body for money reflect a desperate need for attention and are likely to say and do anything for even more attention.”

On the heels of a McCain supporter yelling that Obama was a “terrorist” today – and McCain said nothing in response to admonish the supporter – the Washington Post reports (via ThinkProgress) that a Palin supporter at one of her rallies today yelled for Obama to be assassinated after Palin, again, told the lie that some of Obama’s best friends are terrorists:

“Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers,” Palin said.

“Boooo!” said the crowd.

“And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” she continued.

“Boooo!” the crowd repeated.

“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.

Palin went on to say that “Obama held one of the first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers’s living room, and they’ve worked together on various projects in Chicago.”

Palin went on?

Just like she did when speakers at her church said that terrorist attacks against Israelis were “God’s judgment” for Jews having the audacity not to embrace Christianity. Just like she did when a visiting witch doctor at her church lamented the fact that, as he claimed, Jews control the banking industry and that’s why Wall Street is so corrupt. Not a word from Sarah Palin when her supporters talk of killing Barack Obama. Not a word from Sarah Palin when her own church talks of the propriety of launching terrorist attacks against Jews in Israel.

In one day, McCain’s supporters are so enraged by McCain’s new rhetoric, calling Obama an un-American terrorist sympathizer, that McCain’s supporters are now labeling Obama himself a “terrorist” and calling for him to be killed.

And McCain has no problem with this. Nor does Sarah Palin.

My Notes: Others that have incited murder, threats and harm to others have ended up in jail or at the least, questioned for hours about there actions. Sarah Palin should indeed watch herself since she may find being arrested or detained by a citizen for her actions, would indeed put an end to any political position in the future.

Note to FBI & Law Enforcement: If the actions of McCain and Palin are OK, please remember that makes it OK for everyone. It is suggested you make an arrest or detain her for questioning at once. It will be better if suthorities do this rather than a citizen to. I know when she visits NC on October 16, a group will use NC Law to detain her, since “Citizens Arrest” does not apply in NC. Ohh yeah the NC law is enforceable by private citizens so dont try to stop these people or you could be detained and arrested.

Seven of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s top aides defied subpoenas for their testimony Friday into possible abuse of power by the governor.

Palin’s chief of staff, Mike Nizich, and six other aides failed to appear at a legislative hearing into whether Palin abused her power when she fired her public safety commissioner this summer.

State Senate Judiciary Chairman Hollis French, a Democrat, waited 30 minutes Friday before reading a statement that the witnesses could be found in contempt when the full Legislature convenes in January and that the investigation would go on “in a simple search for the truth.”

Alaska Attorney General Talis Colberg filed a lawsuit on behalf of the seven state workers Thursday challenging the subpoenas. He claims the committee has no jurisdiction to issue subpoenas in the investigation and questions whether the investigation’s overseeing body, the Legislative Council, had the authority to begin a probe.

Colberg, a Republican appointed by Palin, said in a news conference Friday that he never directed anybody to ignore subpoenas but advised the seven that they had two options: Show up and testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee or don’t and join the lawsuit.

“If they were a normal subpoena, we do not believe they would be optional,” Colberg said.

Palin fired Walt Monegan, the public safety commissioner, in July. He claims he was fired for refusing to fire a state trooper who had gone through a nasty divorce from Palin’s sister.

He claims he was pressured by Palin, her husband, Todd, and members of her staff to fire the trooper.

The Republican vice presidential nominee had initially denied that she nor anyone in her administration pressured Monegan, but in August revealed that her director of boards and commissions, Frank Bailey, was recorded questioning a state trooper official about why Palin’s former brother-in-law still had a job.

“Todd and Sarah are scratching their heads, why on earth hasn’t, why is this guy still representing the department? He’s a horrible recruiting tool. … You know, I mean from their perspective, everyone’s protecting him,” he said.

Bailey was placed on paid administrative leave Aug. 19 but returned to work on Thursday, said Palin gubernatorial spokesman Bill McAllister. He declined to discuss Bailey’s return further, saying it was a personnel matter.

Palin claims she never pressured Monegan, and instead fired him over budget disagreements.

The Legislative Council, in a unanimous bipartisan vote, ordered an investigation into Monegan’s firing, and Palin agreed to cooperate — until she was named John McCain’s running mate.

Since then, Palin — through the McCain campaign — has accused lawmakers of manipulating the probe to be potentially damaging ahead of the November election. She said through her attorney, Thomas Van Flein, that she will cooperate only with a separate investigation by the Alaska State Personnel Board, which is conducted in secret and can take up to two years to complete its work.

Most witnesses under subpoena, including Todd Palin, have refused to testify before the special investigator or the legislative body. Colberg said their advice to the state employees was made without input from the McCain campaign. Todd Palin was advised by Van Flein, who filed a complaint with French objecting to the subpoena.

Van Flein is under contract with the state to represent the governor but also represents her husband as a private citizen, Colberg said.

Five Republican state legislators have filed a lawsuit seeking to halt the Legislative Council’s investigation.

Sarah Palin routinely notes her husband’s Yup’ik Eskimo roots. But those connections haven’t erased doubts about her in a community long slighted by the white settlers who flocked to Alaska and dominate its government.

Since she took office in 2006, many Alaska Natives say they’ve felt ignored when she made appointments to her administration, sided with sporting interests over Native hunting rights and pursued a lawsuit that Natives say seeks to undermine their ancient traditions.

Alaska’s population today is mostly white but nearly a fifth of its people are Native Americans — primarily Alaska Natives. Blacks and Asians combined make up less than 10 percent of the state’s population.

As a result, race relations in Alaska are different from those in other states. Palin inherited a complex, sometimes strained relationship with Alaska Natives. There is a wide economic disparity between its predominantly white urban areas and the scores of isolated Native villages, and competition between sport hunting rights and tribal sovereignty.

Early in her administration, Palin created a furor by trying to appoint a white woman to a seat, held for more than 25 years by a Native, on the panel that oversees wildlife management. Ultimately, Palin named an Athabascan Indian to the game board, but not before relations were bruised.

When Palin this summer fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan, a Native, she replaced him with a non-Native. His successor resigned after 10 days on the job, when a previously undisclosed reprimand that stemmed from a sexual harassment claim against him came to light.

The Monegan firing is the subject of two state investigations. Palin is accused of firing Monegan because he refused to fire her sister’s former husband, a state trooper.

Two weeks after she was tapped as John McCain’s running mate, Palin named a Native to Monegan’s old position.

Palin spokeswoman Sharon Leighow said the governor’s Cabinet members and chief advisers represent the state’s diversity. For example, Palin’s communications director, Bill McAllister, is part black. Her commissioner for the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development, Emil Notti, is a noted Alaska Native leader.

“The governor is colorblind when it comes to hiring,” Leighow said.

But Duke University political science professor Paula McClain, who went to high school in Alaska and now specializes in minority relations, said Palin’s actions suggest she has “a political tin ear or that she simply doesn’t care.”

“In a state like Alaska, how can you not be aware of how not reappointing a Native is going to play? At best, she’s naive,” McClain said.

Alaska Natives — the term includes indigenous Eskimo, Aleut and Indian populations — tend to lean Democrat. Many prominent Native leaders have endorsed Democrat Barack Obama for president.

But the mother of Palin’s husband, Todd, is a quarter Yup’ik Eskimo. Each summer, he heads to his birthplace in Western Alaska to work in the Bristol Bay commercial salmon fishery.

Palin’s family ties would suggest she would be more sensitive to Native issues, said Stephen Haycox, a University of Alaska Anchorage history professor. But in her 21-month tenure, the governor has used those ties mostly to highlight her experiences in commercial fishing, moose hunting and general outdoorsmanship.

“She has not manifested, so far, any extraordinary measures on behalf of Alaska Natives,” Haycox said.

Alaska Inter-Tribal Council Chairman Mike Williams of Akiak said he’s been seeking an audience with Palin to address tribal concerns ever since she was elected governor, but her staff keeps telling him that her schedule is full.

“She’s so busy that she doesn’t have time for the tribes. There needs to be respect and a dialogue,” said Williams, who is also Yup’ik Eskimo.

This time of year, Williams is busy putting away meat, fish and berries for the winter — supplies that are critical to survival in cash-poor rural villages — and he said he wants to explain to Palin how increased pressures from sport hunting and fishing as well as oil and mining have eroded native hunting lands.

Palin’s Director of Community and Regional Affairs, Tara Jollie, a member of the Chippewa tribe of North Dakota, said the popular governor’s schedule is busy, but she has attended events such as the yearly gathering of the Alaska Federation of Natives and a recent bridge dedication honoring a native leader.

Jollie also said many of Palin’s initiatives, like energy assistance and sharing state revenues with municipalities, are particularly important to the rural Natives coping with some of the highest fuel costs in the nation.

“It’s her nature to want the best for all Alaskans,” said Jollie. “She would treat her native constituency exactly the same as any other constituency.”
